Cheap Art Collective
The Cheap Art Collective is a resident-led, volunteer-run collective located in St. Raymond’s and the greater Notre-Dame-de-Grace neighbourhood in Montreal, seeking to create affordable, accessible space for culture-making in our community.
The Collective is inspired by the international Art Hive model that links art studios across the globe that aim to “create multiple opportunities for dialogue, skill sharing, and art making between people of differing socio-economic backgrounds, ages, cultures and abilities.”
Since 2010 the collective has created affordable, accessible spaces for local culture-making, and it is now pursuing the establishment of a permanent art hive café in St. Raymond.
