Incroyables Comestibles -Incredible Edibles NDG

De la nourriture à partager à NDG! Food to Share in NDG! The Hampton Avenue IE garden is in its 4th year of operation in the front yard of a private residence. It is an in ground garden with the goal of growing as many edible perennials as possible. This year’s offerings include sage, dill, red and black currants, rhubarb, chives, lemon balm, lemon thyme, tarragon, summer savory, swiss chard, kale, anise hyssop, chamomile and a lot of parsley and mint. The wind blew in some nettle and a mystery person planted some bush bean seeds (the latter are growing in what I would have thought were unfavourable conditions)! Flowers include calendula, marigolds, nasturtium and lilies. Insects of all sorts love the garden and are so grateful that the grass is gone! The garden is part of the David Suzuki Foundation Butterflyway garden network and received a certificate (2021) from Espace pour la vie Montréal in recognition of its biodiversity, edibles and ecosystem support to butterflies and birds.
