The Council has been running conversation groups for many years, with continuous engagement from volunteers. These groups are an excellent way to meet other participants and network. All our conversation groups are free and open to all residents of NDG.

Promote Social Inclusion and Connection:

By offering free conversation groups in both French and English, the Council aims to break social isolation and create opportunities for residents to connect, share experiences, and build supportive networks within the NDG community.

Identify and Address Resident Needs:

These groups allow the Council to maintain direct contact with participants, providing a platform to understand and identify the evolving needs of NDG residents, ensuring that appropriate resources and support are directed where most needed.

All our conversation groups are free and open to all residents of NDG. Our mandate is not education; rather, the goal of these groups is to break social isolation and increase direct contact with residents, allowing us to identify their needs. Throughout the year, we continued to offer both in-person and virtual groups in French and English. The Benny Library partnered with us, hosting two conversation groups every week. The demand remains constant, and we are happy to see new faces joining all the time.

These groups, led entirely by dedicated volunteers, provide a welcoming space for participants to connect, practice their language skills, and build community.
