Resource Guide: Entrepreneurship in NDG
The Entrepreneurship in NDG Resource Guide provides local entrepreneurs and small businesses with information on available services, funding opportunities, training programs, networking events, and business support organizations in NDG. It is designed to help residents start, grow, and strengthen their businesses while contributing to the local economy.
You can contact local organizations such as the Carrefour Jeunesse Emploi, PME MTL, and BizNDG for guidance on business planning, financing, permits, and training.

Though widely known as a residential neighborhood, NDG has a vibrant commercial life, particularly along the main streets - Sherbrooke Ouest and Monkland, as well as Somerled and Upper Lachine. NDG's local commerce stand out for their diversity, both in the types of services offered, and the cultures represented by its restaurants, cafes, and groceries - Mexican, Trinidadian, Italian, French, Korean, Japanese, Iranian, Ethiopian, and more! Recognizing the critical role that local enterprise plays in community life, in 2015 the NDG Community Council added a new membership category - Business Members.
WHO CAN HELP YOU IN NDG NEIGHBORHOOD
Mobilize merchants and implement various actions helping to revitalize the commercial arteries of the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce district by improving the commercial offer and promoting economic development.
Our Economic Development Commissioner works to support the borough’s economic vitality. He advises and assists businesses, investors and businesspeople as they turn their plans into reality. He also promotes the development of our commercial arteries.
The Economic Development Commissioner is able to guide and facilitate your interactions with municipal bodies and borough departments through the following services:
- Information on the financial assistance programs offered by the Ville de Montréal
- Help with research, feasibility studies, start-up and organization of a new or expanding business in the borough
- Support for and involvement with merchants and merchants’ associations (CDCs, street fairs, joint projects, creation of new associations, local events)
- Forging connections between the different partners, contributors and stakeholders involved in the borough’s economic development
